Sabbatical Pictures®, LLC, is based in Dallas, Texas. In addition to providing production services to the motion picture and television industries, it also finances and produces its own feature films.
Sabbatical's first release, 2008's "EXIT SPEED," is an action thriller featuring extreme stunts on high performance motorcycles. Starring Lea Thompson of "BACK TO THE FUTURE" and "CAROLINE IN THE CITY," and veteran tough guy Fred Ward of "THE RIGHT STUFF," "TREMORS" and "SWEET HOME ALABAMA," this high-octane romp also features 2009 Tony-award-winning actor Gregory Jbara. The intense action, combined with a driving score by Tony-award-winning composer Doug Besterman, keeps viewers on the edges of their seats.
"THE BEACON," Sabbatical's second movie, was the winner of the Best Feature Film Award at the 2009 Paranoia Film Festival. A supernatural thriller, it stars Teri Polo of "MEET THE PARENTS" and "THE WEST WING," David Rees Snell from television's "THE SHIELD," Michael Ironside from "TOP GUN" and "SCANNERS," and Ken Howard from "MICHAEL CLAYTON" and "THE WHITE SHADOW." Special make-up effects were provided by the team from "LAST OF THE MOHICANS" and "REQUIEM FOR A DREAM."
Both "EXIT SPEED" and "THE BEACON" were shot on 35 mm film in Texas. “EXIT SPEED” was released theatrically both in the U.S. and abroad and is now available on DVD. "THE BEACON" will be released in foreign territories in late 2009, with a U.S. release in 2010.
In addition to its own projects, Sabbatical Pictures provides high quality services to third party productions at all budget levels.
